GENERAL PURPOSE:

 

The custodial engineer at Noble Academy maintains the facility and keeping equipment in good operating order. In addition, this position also assumes certain assigned cleaning responsibilities. Responsibilities include general repairs, general maintenance, opening the building, and cleaning, but are not limited to these areas. Although the list of duties and responsibilities is extensive, it should not be considered all-inclusive.

 

Assigned cleaning schedule

 

Responsibilities begin from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following below. The custodial engineer will also follow other duties as assigned by the CEO/Founder and/or Executive Director of Teaching & Learning.

 

 

Detail of cleaning responsibilities

 

Gym

• Dust the entire gym floor daily

• Wet spot mop the gym floor daily and completely wet mop the gym floor at least once weekly.

• Empty garbage containers and replace can liners with new daily.

• Dust ledges and sills where dust collects weekly.

• Inspect area for damage and lighting needs and report needs to the CEO/Founder daily.

 

Locker rooms and gym foyer rest rooms

• Sweep floors in both gym foyer rest rooms and both locker rooms daily.

• Check paper and supplies in all dispensers daily and refill as needed.

• Clean sinks, stools, other fixtures, and chrome with disinfectant and rinse with clean water.

• Clean partition walls and doors, entry doors, and other walls with disinfectant daily as needed and inspect for writing and marks.

• Clean mirrors, sills, and other fixtures daily.

• Empty trash containers (and sanitary disposals in girls rest rooms) daily and replace liners with new daily

• Mop floor daily with mild bleach and water solution.

• Inspect area for damages and lighting needs and report needs to the CEO/Founder daily.

 

Stage and back room areas

• Empty all trash containers daily.

• Vacuum office on stage daily as needed.

• Dust stage and sweep stage stairs daily.

• Maintain cleanliness and order on stage and keep curtain is good repair.

• Maintain floors in back room areas and keep pathways free of clutter.

• Dust or sweep floors in back room areas daily as needed.

• Sweep and wet mop locker rooms stairs daily as needed.

• Inspect area for damages and lighting needs and report needs to the CEO/Founder daily.

 

 

Gym foyer

• Empty trash container and replace liner with new daily.

• Clean and dust ledges and display cases daily as needed.

• Clean drinking fountain daily.

• Clean glass in entry doors daily.

• Inspect area for damages and lighting needs and report needs to the CEO/Founder daily.

 

 

The following duties are to be considered routine and daily in addition to the cleaning schedule.

 

Morning procedures

 

Building and grounds

• Spring, summer, and fall perform daily inspections of the grounds and clean up any trash that accumulates. In the fall accumulations of leaves should be removed daily from entranced to keep them from being tracked into the building.

• During the winter inspect sidewalks for ice or snow and clean and clear as needed. This is to be done at arrival time (6 a.m.) and takes priority over all other duties.

• Also during winter continuous maintenance of sidewalks and stairs must be performed throughout the day.

• Perform daily inspections of the exterior of the building for damage and vandalism and clean up or advise the CEO/Founder.

• Playground chip cleaning – as needed.

• Playground cleaning – as needed.

 

 

Cafeteria

• Assist in cleaning the cafeteria daily before/during or after breakfast/lunch periods which includes but not limited to:

 

Report to CEO/Founder

• Report daily to the CEO/Founder to discuss daily events and repair duties

• Obtain work requests to be acted on.

• Plan future work and brainstorm on upcoming projects.
