Scopes and Sequences

Attached to this link are the scope and sequences for K-8 instruction--including specialist studies in physical education, health, music, Hmong literacy and culture.

The scope and sequences for all grade levels are based on Minnesota State Power Standards. Standards that qualify for the distinction of “power [standards] give students the ability to use reasoning and thinking skills to learn and understand other curriculum objectives” (Ainsworth, p.5-6). Put simply, power standards imply that achievement of the standard at a mastery are essential to learning other key objectives in a student's near or distant future leading to their graduation from High School and later success in college.
