Spelling Homework and Conferences
Monday, November 7, 2011 - 7:37pm
Hello Students and Parents! I have changed how the spelling homework will be handed in. Students used to turn spelling homework in each Friday, but now they will have to complete one activity each night (Mon-Thurs) and turn it in each morning (Tues-Fri). I hope that this will help students better study their spelling words and be more prepared for the spelling tests on Fridays. Also, just a reminder that conferences are next week, Thurs and Fri, 11/17 and 11/18. Almost all of you have signed up...
Updates on 10/8/11
Thursday, October 6, 2011 - 8:47am
Hello students and families! Here are some updates about what is going on in our fourth grade classroom: We just finished up our journeys unit. The kids interviewed a family member, wrote a paper, and presented the information to the class. This next week we will be starting our Nature unit. We also completed our first math unit, which had the students reviewing and learning about geometric shapes. The students are now in their second math unit, where they are learning about place value and...
Welcome to 4th Grade!
Saturday, September 3, 2011 - 8:39am
It was great meeting so many students and parents at the open house. Can you believe we start school on Tuesday already? Don't forget to bring your school supplies with you on the first day. I know we will have a great year together - we will work hard and have fun too!

Homework Assignments

Spelling Homework - "Get to 50"
Mon, 10/10/2011 (All day) - Fri, 06/08/2012 (All day)

Spelling homework is due Tuesday through Friday morning. The "Get to 50" yellow spelling homework sheet includes many activities to choose from. Students need to choose one activity to do each evening (except Fridays).

Reading Homework
Mon, 10/10/2011 (All day) - Fri, 06/08/2012 (All day)

Students should be reading for at least 20 minutes every day! Students have reading homework to do Mondays through Thursdays - look for a tan sheet called, Reading Homework, in the take home folder.

I had the privilege of having an excellent teacher who made a difference in my life, and I want to do the same for my students.

I want to be the best teacher I can be and will work hard to improve my skills every day. I love exchanging ideas with other teachers and learning from my students too!

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially my husband, Bill, and our dog, Laszlo. I like reading, dancing and spending time outside during the warmer months. I love to travel when I can and have visited Australia, Indonesia, Jamaica, and China, as well as many states in the U.S.
