Showing what we have learned on our MCA exams
Thursday, April 26, 2012 - 8:55am
It\'s hard to believe how fast this school year has been going! It seems like just yesterday the students were all ariving with their empty notebooks and freshly sharpened pencils.  Now, we have just over a month left until summer vacation. This month our students completed their second round of MCA math testing and their MCA reading tests.  It has been very exciting to see students getting to show all that they have learned this year.  Next month we will be taking our MCA...
Spring is Here
Thursday, March 29, 2012 - 8:07am
Good Morning, 5th Grade Families and Students! This month, students not only enjoyed a wonderful and restful (hopefully!) Spring Break, they also were able to enjoy the Minnesota History Museum.  At the museum, students learned about different immigrant families to Minnesota and various refugee groups.  Many students were able to make connections to the information and their own family's experiences.  They also went to an exhibit on World War II, where they participated in a...
I have a dream!
Thursday, January 26, 2012 - 10:01am
Good morning, 5th graders and families! After a long winter break, we are back in the swing of things for Trimester 2!  The students are all working hard to get all of their blue ribbons on Study Island for Math, Math Common Core, ELA, Reading, and Science.  Congratulations to our students who have already finished!  You’re hard work is paying off now. Before the winter break, students wrote letters to students at a school in Thailand.  One of our adult volunteers, Mr. Al...
Learning about our Journeys
Thursday, October 27, 2011 - 7:52am
Good morning, Noble Academy 5th Grade Families! October has been a busy month that has been full of hands-on learning for our 5th grade students.  In writing, students have been learning about writing with the 12 Powerful Words.  Since the theme for this month is “Journeys,” the word we have been focusing on is “Trace.”  Our writers having been working hard to use complex sentences to put events or steps in order.  One way we practiced this was by writing directions for...
This Month in 5th Grade
Thursday, October 6, 2011 - 8:14am
Hello 5th Grade Students and Families! It’s hard to believe that October is already here.  September was a busy month full of learning classroom routines, NWEA testing, and W-APT testing for our EL students.  Our unit for September was called “Communities,” and students explored what makes a community and  how they belong to specific communities.   It has been a fun unit that has helped me, as well as the other 5th grade teachers, discover more about all of the learners...

I love seeing students discover new passions and grow in their abilities.  I believe that education is the most effective way to empower children to reach their fullest potential.

I am a positive and collaborative with my team and students.  I am looking forward to my first year at Noble Academy!

In my free time, you will find me reading both fiction and non-fiction.  I almost always prefer being outside, unless I am cooking or enjoying a cup of coffee.  I love to travel and learn about other cultures.  During my time at the university, I spent a semester studying in Spain.  I have also traveled to Peru, Portugal, France, and Italy.  I am excited for the adventures this school year will bring!
