Whitney Naab

Kindergarten Teacher

Education:
I attended Bethel University in St. Paul Minnesota for 4 years. I graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education K-6.

Experience:
During my time at Bethel, I taught at three different schools. During practicum, I taught in a Kindergarten classroom at Coon Rapids Elementary until December 2017. While I was in the Kindergarten classroom, I worked with students on their letters and math facts. Starting in February of 2018, I taught in a 3rd grade classroom at Fair Elementary School in Plymouth. During this time, I worked with students in reading small groups. We worked on the beginning, middle, and end of stories. It was a great experience.

Finally, during my last year of college, I had the opportunity to student teach in a 3rd grade classroom at Hmong College Prep in Falcon Heights across from the fairgrounds.

This is my 2nd year of teaching 2nd grade. I taught at Nompeng Academy last year. This is my 1st year teaching at Noble. I am very excited to teach 2nd grade again this year and to be in person.

Reason for becoming a Teacher:
I have always loved school and children. Most importantly, I had many teachers that made a difference in my life while I was in school and growing up. Because of this, I know that I can make a difference in my students’ lives. I intend to inspire my students to follow their dreams. My main reason for becoming a teacher is to help students grow and make an impact in their lives. I want students to also learn that making mistakes is a good thing, we can grow from our mistakes, and get to where they need to be. I have learned that we are lifelong learners. My hope and dream is to help students become lifelong learners.

Interesting Facts and Hobbies:
I am the only-left handed person in my family. I love sports! I love the Minnesota Twins. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family at our cabin. I enjoy being outdoors and hanging out with friends and family.
